This is the part where I brag for a minute.
The penultimate draft of The Thief is done. DONE I tell you! And distributed to my “gammareaders.” I imagine the tremendous sense of accomplishment I feel can only be surpassed by what it’s going to feel like when I’m actually done with the final draft and hit “publish.” It is pretty crazy to think that after way too long, I’ve finally got a full manuscript for a book. Very satisfying.
Also slightly exhausting. >_> Mentally, anyway. But it’s ok – now I get to take a little time and catch up on all the random piddly fun things I’ve been responsibly putting aside, like video games and books and cooking real food instead of nuking something in the microwave or running through a drive-thru.
While I (very impatiently) wait for feedback from my early readers, I’ve got some other projects to dig into. I have to get a copyright. Even though the book won’t be published in a print copy at first, I’ll still need to craft some “back jacket copy” for various promotional purposes. I need to put together the chunks of lore that I’m going to put on the Archetype series site. It would also be a good idea, I think, to scan in some of my character sketches and put them up there too. And I have to…(shudder)…get back on facebook. Ugh, I think I just threw up a little.
Alright, back to basking in the glow of accomplishment.
