Serious writer is serious

Here’s my serious writer face :D

It’s very different from my non-serious writer face -_-

I took a bit of a break in August to recharge, after assembling my betascript. It is the term I invented for the point at which my manuscript is just coherent enough that I can let my mother read it. Scientific, I know.

Anyway, the thing is still riddled with holes, though I did a much better job in this compilation by adding in notes of what was missing. They will serve as good reminders for me as I now try to go in and spackle the holes, as it were.

NaNoWriMo 2012 is less than two months away, and I need to get myself into good writing habits before it hits. I also need to have a reasonable skeleton plot down for book 2, because that’s what I’m going to be starting this November. (I get scared just thinking about it.) Yes, this means that I’m starting a second book before I finish the first. This is on purpose. I want to get myself into a kind of pipeline, and that means using November as a time to churn out 50,000 words of a new novel, and spending the rest of the year adding and editing. Also, I like starting it while still in edits for book 1, because I think it’s going to be helpful having a better idea where the plot is going so that I can firm up characters and themes accordingly.

And I’m trying to not get sick. *chugs orange juice*
