Middle of February? Yeah, we’ll call that first of the year.

Yeah so, I’m back at it. This “mini writing break” turned out to be not entirely as miniature as I had intended.

That’s in character. It’s not an excuse. But I am so obsessed with character integrity, apparently even I can’t go OOC.

Anyway, now that NaNoWriMo has concluded (and successfully, I might add) it’s time to take that 50,000 words and expand it into a real first rough draft. I’m going to start back with a very low daily goal of 500 words, as I intend to spend a good bit of time sorting out plot problems…my brain just gave me the metaphor of carding wool, not sure where that came from, but it could be a pretty decent analogy.

The new deadline for a finished rough draft is May 1st. With the intention of using the summer to hammer out subsequent drafts and prepare for kicking off book 2 for NaNoWriMo 2012. This is all in the interest of attempting to adhere to the “one book a year” ideal.
